The Paleontological Society of Austin (PSoA) is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization and we, along with our UT advisors, study and seek to understand what the climates and environments of our area were like in the past and what life existed in those environments. Once a year we hold a show called Fossil Fest to display and share what we have learned with the public. The 34th Annual Fossil Fest will be held November 1 & 2, 2025, Saturday & Sunday from 9 am to 5 pm at Old Settlers Association, 3300 Palm Valley Blvd., Round Rock, TX (on Highway 79 next to the Dell Diamond).

Our show theme, "Terrific Trilobites," seeks to educate and explore the wonderful world of trilobites. Trilobites are marine arthropods that were among the most successful of all early animals, existing in oceans for almost 270 million years, with over 22,000 species having been described. This is an engaging earth science educational opportunity!
Teachers: Enrich your students earth science proficiency with our unique hands-on activities including a “Paleo Passport” educational quest (TEKS aligned for Pre-K/K and 1st-8th grade), touch table with a large selection of fossils available for hands-on examination as well as a Wheel of Fossils and other fossil games. TEKS correlations to the "Paleo Passport" and more detailed information about Fossil Fest may be found on our website at www.austinpaleo.org/fest.
Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and Youth Groups: Are you working towards your Webelos Geology Pin or Boy Scouts Geology Merit Badge? Girl Scouts, do you dream that "I can be..." a Paleontologist? Our special educational presentations for scout groups of 10 or more can focus on fulfilling badge requirements.
